Bio
Jim Costello is the principal of Costello Design. Mr. Costello graduated from the Domus Academy in Milan, Italy with a Master of Industrial Design. He then went on to lead Igloo’s Industrial Design Department into the 21st century. His work included such innovative products as the Cool Roller, the first cooler with wheels, the Spacemate Eco-friendly refrigerator, and the Playmate personal coolers. Jim created his own studio Costello Design in 1996. He holds more than 20 patents in the areas of housewares, appliances, outdoor products and insulated products. He has also received design awards from the Industrial Designers Society of America and Appliance Design magazine.

Costello Design is an innovative, award-winning, Industrial Design and Product Development firm based in the Portland, Oregon area. Costello Design develops products for domestic and international clients in the areas of housewares, medical products, appliances, fashion accessories, furniture, and lighting. Our approach to design is to take an idea from sketch to a finished product while considering aesthetics, manufacturing processes, marketing, function and user interface.
Costello Design has created hundreds of successful contemporary products that have been placed in the marketplace. In today’s market, innovative as well as sustainable Industrial Design is most important. Costello Design believes that being true to the end-user and the environment will create the most successful design.
